Holidayland Kid's Shoppe VS. Buying

Products Locally

The holiday season is a busy time of year for everyone, and we strive to make our holiday shoppe as easy as possible for the chairperson and his/her volunteers. We have found that holiday shoppes where the school purchased their own items are are very hard to manage, have hidden costs, and require a lot of extra time for those involved.

Negatives for buying your own products:

  • You are stuck with what you don't sell.
  • You may have to pay shipping costs from catalog items you buy
  • You have to purchase your own supplies including: to/from bags, tablecloths, posters, and envelopes.
  • You may have to purchase a cash register.
  • You may be going to the dollar store during your sale to restock merchandise.
  • You will have to pay upfront for merchandise you purchase.
  • You will have to do your own parent letter and make those copies.
  • You will have to take the time and price each item.
  • Do you have the storage for items purchased and left over?
